Conducting a TOT is our favorite of all training events. We love to provide training for those who are interested in becoming trainers and/or for trainers who are interested in improving their skills. There are two principles that guide the preparation and delivery of our
ToT workshops. The first of these is what Confucius said more than 3400 years ago: "I hear and I forget; I see and I remember; I do and I understand." We try to emphasize doing and understanding in our workshops, keeping in mind that hearing and seeing are also part of the learning process. Nearly every training event we have designed and delivered over the past 30 years has been built from this foundation. The second "principle" comes from Will Rogers: "What goes around, comes around." Another way to say this is "you get back what you give away." We believe that our interactions with participants must begin with trust and respect of their ideas the knowledge they bring to the group. And, as trainers of trainers, we try to ensure that our particicpants learn to appreciate the enormous knowledge and capacity of their own future trainees.
